Oxford, GB (30.07.2024) - Joan Pedrero, elite Dakar rider, has set a historic milestone by winning the XL edition of the Baja Aragón in the Maxi Trail category, riding a stock Harley-Davidson Pan America™ 1250. Pedrero not only took the win in his category, but also achieved an outstanding 21st place in the overall standings.Harley-Davidson's adventurous and groundbreaking motorcycle impressed throughout this competition, reaffirming its commitment to off-road performance. The Pan America™ 1250, equipped with the Revolution® Max engine and a liquid-cooled 1250cc V-Twin, proved to be a formidable contender. This engine not only delivers impressive power at high revs, but also guarantees an adrenaline-filled, technologically advanced riding experience.
The legendary Baja Aragón, which this year celebrated its XL edition, is known for its challenging course that became the perfect stage for the Pan America™ 1250 to showcase its potential. Throughout the race, the crowd witnessed this production bike dominate the circuit, with Pedrero dazzling the spectators with his riding alongside the performance of the American model.
For 2024 edition, Maxi Trail category included motorcycles over 600cc. This made the competition even harder thanks to competitors with lighter and race-ready motorcycles. Despite this, Joan Pedrero and his stock Pan America reached 1st position (out of 9) in the Maxi Trail category and 21st (out of 83) in the overall category.
Joan Pedrero is a key ally for Harley-Davidson, this year the rider has pushed the Pan America™ to the limit on multiple occasions, participating in such demanding competitions as the Africa Eco Race, Bassella Race and the Baja Extremadura, where Pedrero has managed to secure first place in the Maxi Trail category in all of them.
“From Harley-Davidson we want to congratulate Joan and the whole team for having achieved such an accomplishment, what a great result! The 40th edition of the prestigious Baja Aragón is a historic milestone and has allowed us to demonstrate once again that the Pan America delivers unparalleled results both on- and off-road,” enthuses Kolja Rebstock, Harley-Davidson Regional Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Harley-Davidson's participation in this competition underscores the capability and reliability of the Pan America™ 1250, which with its Revolution® Max 1250 V-Twin engine delivers up to 150 hp and is designed to maximize rider control. Adventure is part of the Harley-Davidson identity, and the Pan America™ continues to redefine the authentic Harley-Davidson experience.
