Harley-Davidson returns to the shores of Lake Faak, Carinthia, Austria to host Europe’s biggest motorcycle festival for the 22nd year running. This huge event, attended last year by motorcyclists from more than 59 countries is the final major motorcycle festival of the year in the region. Its huge parade, featuring more than 10,000 bikes stretching back over 20km of picturesque roads, through countryside, towns and villages is an unmissable highlight. The Harley-Davidson European Bike Week is a free event and completely open to riders of any motorcycle brand.

2019’s European Bike Week introduces a bigger than ever Harley-Davidson Expo, showcasing the latest motorcycles from the brand including brand new 2020 models like the recently announced Harley-Davidson Softail Low Rider® S and Touring updates, as well as the all-new Livewire electric motorcycle. For those who want to try out Harley-Davidson’s most popular motorcycles on the open road, free Demo Rides will be running from 10.00 to 19.00 most days, with a one hour unguided test-ride on all bikes and a new 2-hour guided Softail Experience Ride – allowing you to take in some of the best riding roads in the region on some of Harley-Davidson’s most iconic new motorcycles.

Alongside the Harley-Davidson Expo in the main plaza, visitors will also find the H.O.G.® Zone, welcoming members of the biggest manufacturer-sponsored owners group in the world: The Harley Owners Group®. Members can use the zone as a meeting place, to relax, pick up their chapter parade flag and more. The main plaza is the perfect place to unwind and swap stories in the all new Harley Lounge Bar and Vida Loca Bus, featuring live music and local beers. Also, on the main plaza there will be the Official Event Merchandise tent where you can pick up a souvenir and an exclusive Willie G design T-shirt. On the Dealer Mile there is the all new Faaktoberfest Bar where you can party in true Bavarian style with beer served in traditional steins.

This year sees the main stage move to the new Harley Bar at the entrance to the Customiser Zone, with free live music every day from midday to after midnight. The Customiser Zone will also host the Custom Bike Show on Friday September 6, with registration open from 12.00 and the awards ceremony at 6pm. This zone will also feature the all-new H-D Skate Ramp, with professional skaters, including international stars sponsored by Vans doing daily skateboard exhibitions from 12.00 – 20.00, with prizes available for visitors and locals who take part.

New for 2019 are the Harley-Davidson Motor-clothes Dance Shows which will the taking place in the Harley Bar and H-D Expo terrace everyday giving you a chance to pick some ideas on new attire then purchase from the H-D Dealers on site. For those who want to find out more about customisation, pick up parts, merchandise or motor clothes – or get a tattoo, food or just about anything else you can think of for a motorcycle festival, the event features over 100 dealers, traders and other vendors which draw thousands of shoppers every day.

Local official Harley-Davidson dealer Motodrom will also be on-site offering technical support, a huge selection of merchandise and parts, special offers on bikes and a unique “Swap Meet” – a used parts sale. The local Kärnten Chapter will also be providing some amazing 6-hour riding tours, guaranteed to wow visitors.

Co-sponsored by the local region of Carinthia, European Bike Week offers many unique opportunities to soak up the local scenery and enjoy some of the best riding roads in Europe, and one of the major highlights will be Saturday’s parade which is extensively featured in the media and supported by locals who flock to the roadside to see thousands of bikes pass by every year. This year the local Villacher Brauerei has also sponsored a competition to give away a Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 motorcycle, with free competition entry and the winner being announced live on Saturday evening.

According to Bev English, International Events Manager at Harley-Davidson: “It’s going to be a spectacular 22nd year for European Bike Week with more happening on-site from 03-08 September than ever before. More entertainment, more motorcycles, unmissable new Demo Ride options, a new skateboard exhibition, new bars, fantastic food and shopping options and some of the best custom bikes, custom bike builders, dealers and traders on the planet.
